Departmental Aims

Health and Social Care aims to introduce pupils to a wide variety of careers, such as childcare, teaching, nursing, pharmacy, counselling and social work. Pupils gain hands-on experience through their weekly placements, reflecting on their observations during regular class discussions. Through a combination of classroom learning, independent coursework, and real-world case studies, students gain insight into the challenges and rewards of working in health and social care professions. Health and Social Care is best suited to those interested in careers in health, wellbeing and caring for others, and those who wish to make a positive impact in society.
