Iona O’Neill and Erin Johnson (Year 13) both participated in The Edgar Graham Memorial Public Speaking Competition on Wednesday 22 February 2017 in the Senate Chamber at Stormont. Facing stiff competition from 28 speakers, both girls excelled in their confident and persuasive speeches. Iona spoke on “Education – A box-ticking exercise?” and was Highly commended (2nd) while Erin’s topic was “Man is a mine rich in gems”. Their excellent content and convincing delivery assured them high praise- we should anticipate further success from these two gifted orators.
