Victoria Wilton Yr13 participated in the national semi-final of the Poetry Aloud Competition, held in the National Library in Dublin on 23 November 2012. Mrs Jennifer Gorringe and Mrs J Hutchinson accompanied her. She recited 2 poems off by heart and performed extremely well although did not get through to the final; there were 70 competitors from every county in Ireland. Her poems were “At the Wellhead” by Seamus Heaney and “Poor but honest” (Anon).
