Productions 2010 -2011
This year saw the turn of the Juniors, in Years 8, 9 and 10 to star on the Sullivan Stage. Junior Drama Club met from the very beginning of the Autumn Term, and by October half term we had selected a merry band of 34 players to perform in our Junior Production of ‘Animal Farm’. Rehearsals then began in earnest and after many hours after school and on Saturday mornings, we were finally ready to invite the public to our farm yard.

The Seniors were not forgotten, although largely left to their own devices. Sixth Form pupils began work on their own original performance. Jill Luke gathered a cast to perform her own play ‘Ties that Bind’, set against the backdrop of the current conflict in Afghanistan, and Meadhbh Keating–Fitpatrick and Katrina Denoon created their own onstage Harry Potter tale. Casts for both performances were drawn mainly from Years 11, 12, 13 and 14 with two starring appearances from Jack Torrens and Emm Luke in Year 9. Scripts written, roles cast, the directors then cajoled their respective players through nights of rehearsal culminating in performances at the Senior Studio Night on the 21 February 2011. GCSE Drama students also performed on the night, Year 11 students set performed a version of Gogol’s ‘The Government Inspector and Year 12 students performed a short extract from Christina Reid ‘Tea In A China Cup’.
